Arizona Rail Passenger Association
We support Proposition #1 -- the Traffic Congestion Relief plan because it will reduce congestion, improve air quality and help curtail urban sprawl.
This plan is simple. It reduces the number of cars on the roads because we will finally get a first-class bus system that gives people an alternative to the highly polluting single occupancy vehicle. Getting people out of cars and into clean, alternative fuel busses will go a long way to reducing the air pollution problem we have today.
The 300 miles of bike lanes and the alternative fuel buses will reduce congestion, further improving air quality.
Finally, this plan will encourage in-fill development which will help to curtail urban sprawl. This will protect our precious and beautiful Sonoran Desert. For these reasons, we encourage every voter to vote Yes on Proposition #1.
