The Williams station, once a Santa Fe stop complete with a Fred Harvey Hotel, is now occupied by the Grand Canyon Railway with its popular excursion train. A wonderful recreation of the Frey Marcos Hotel has been expanded by the GCRY.
In August 1999, Amtrak began offering a connecting van from the Southwest Chief at Williams Junction to the Williams Depot.
