In spite of the humidity and August heat, thirty brave souls
made their way to the Open House to hear our speaker, Ed Immel, State Rail
Planner with the Oregon Department of Transportation. Mr Immel was instrumental
in the planning and implementation of MAX, the popular Portland light rail
system.
He presented a brief history of MAX, and compare the situation in the Phoenix metropolitan area with that in Portland at the time of MAX's inception.
