(2005) Mr. Smyth has been a Phoenix area resident since the early 1980s. He is a graduate engineer and is retired from Honeywell after having worked with them and predecessors Allied-Signal and Garret since moving to the Phoenix Area. Mr. Smyth has been an active supporter of rail passenger service including Amtrak. He is a long-time member of the National Rail Passenger Association. Mr. Smyth is Coordinator of the Southwest Rail Corridor Coalition, which is advocating increased passenger rail in Arizona.
