A native of Mesa, Arizona, Mr. Cooley graduated from Mesa High School and Arizona State University with a BS in Accounting. He became a CPA and practiced for five years before running the family farm. His interest in rail started as a small boy watching passenger trains pass by his family's land on which the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks were located. He is in the process of developing the 1000-acre farm into a planned community, which will be designed around commuter rail.
